Carbon Emissions
Digital clutter is the accumulation of digital files and data that are no longer needed and are out-of-date that take up storage space on electronic devices. In addition to having a significant impact on the environment through carbon emissions, this phenomenon also has an impact on the functionality of our devices. Carbon dioxide is released and energy is used every time digital data is stored, transmitted, or accessed. This includes the energy needed to make, keep, and get rid of electronic devices and the infrastructure that supports them, like servers and data centers.
